Taha Keilani, MD

Taha Keilani, MD joined Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2008 and leads the Clinical Development team in developing and conducting clinical trials, and assisting in new product acquisition assessments.

Prior to joining Sigma-Tau, Dr. Keilani held global leadership positions at AVANT Immunotherapeutics, Inc., Fujisawa Healthcare, Inc., and Serono, Inc.

Through his extensive work experience, Dr. Keilani has progressed product development in numerous therapeutic areas including transplantation, immunology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, nephrology and oncology.

During Dr. Keilani’s academic experience, he worked as a research fellow and co-investigator in numerous clinical research projects including diabetic neuropathy, cardiovascular risks and renal disease, and immunology and transplantation.

After graduating from Aleppo University Medical School and completing his Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Keilani was a nephrology research fellow in at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern University. After his fellowship, he continued as Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Northwestern University Medical School and Veterans Administration Lakeside Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
